Hello Joseph! Can you explain to us what your job is?
I am a carpenter at Quadrapol.
I am in charge of the construction of the wood frame of the different models of the range that we propose to the customers. Whether it is a Tiny House, a garden studio or a wooden house, my mission is to study the plans prepared by our design office and to ensure the construction in terms of carpentry and frame. Each project is different, so it is important in my job to know how to study the plans in order to meet the expectations of the customers. Indeed, a single modification on the execution plan leads to many changes on the rest and the wood frame must be redesigned in this sense.
At Quadrapol, my job is also to assemble the mezzanines, that space that is very practical in our Tiny House models.
I think it is also very important to note that this work is above all a team effort! There is a notion of mutual aid within our team because we all have the same goal: the completion of a project. In addition to my regular duties, I also sometimes install the rain screen or the vapour barrier. Thanks to the know-how of our teams, we know how to adapt perfectly.
It is a job that requires a lot of concentration and patience, we can’t afford to do it any old way because the safety of the people who will live in these houses depends on our work. So in a way we have a big responsibility.
How long have you worked at Quadrapol? What do you like most about this company?
I have been working at Quadrapol for over 5 years and I feel very comfortable there!
I love the philosophy and passion that binds all Quadrapol employees regardless of the position they hold. We are all working on a common project, the construction of nano habitat and wooden houses that are sustainable and of quality. I especially like to see the construction progress over time until the final result. Indeed, each one brings his stone to the building until its finalization and it is there the most exciting moment.
After many weeks of work, to finally see the final result before our eyes is a great feeling. We build something concrete that will be useful to our clients. Their return is also particularly important for the whole team. We need this feedback to move forward and improve.
What do you like most about your job?
Wood has always been my passion. I like to touch it, to feel it, to work it and I like its robustness.
At Quadrapol, we don’t work with just any wood, and that’s also the beauty of our work. Indeed, the wood is selected with rigor, from sustainably managed forests with for example the PEFC label. These are quality woods! This way, we can be sure that we have all the tools to create sustainable and safe structures. And what’s even cooler is that we actually plant trees with each Tiny’s creation!

In my opinion, the 3 words that best describe this company are: solidity, quality and respect for materials .
