A Tiny House is a real timber-frame house mounted on a trailer. Handcrafted in our own workshop, the materials used to make it are environmentally friendly and highly effective in terms of heat and sound insulation. The structure is made of KVH wood, a solid wood that has been dried, finger-jointed and purged of all structural defects. Our siding in larch or red cedar, two natural wood species certified PEFC and FSC, is rot-proof and naturally fungicidal. Like a real wooden house, the Tiny house is designed to be durable, both in its composition and its lifespan.
Can the same be said of a caravan? We’re not convinced!
The size of your Tiny House’s trailer is a crucial factor. It has to fit in with your project and be adapted to the way you’re going to use it, your life plan and your needs. At Quadrapol, we use trailers with a 6m platform for most of our models, with the exception of the Tiny House Hydi. This size provides a beautiful living space with all the comforts needed for year-round occupancy. This gauge also allows towed transport for projects weighing less than 3.5 tonnes, which is more than feasible with this trailer size. It’s a good compromise for maintaining mobility.
For tailor-made projects, we can also work with trailers up to and over 6 meters in height.

A Tiny House weighing up to 3.5 tonnes (as is the case for our models) can be towed by a vehicle with a towable weight of 3.5 tonnes. The towable weight of your vehicle is calculated using information F.2 and F.3 on the towing vehicle’s registration document.
To do this, look for your F.3 on your vehicle registration document. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and your F.2 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Once this information has been identified, simply subtract the GVWR from the GVWR.
To deliver or move our Tinyhouses, we regularly use 4x4s, pick-ups or van-type utility vehicles that meet the above criteria.
To tow your Tiny House, you’ll need a BE license. Training lasts an average of 28 hours, but the number of hours can vary depending on the individual. The practical test consists of two parts: one off-road and one on-road. The cost of a BE license ranges from €500 to €1,000. Hourly rates range from €35 to €50.
We agree: the best way to get a feel for a Tiny House project is to visit one! And the good news is that you have several options!

A Tiny House is both a trailer and a timber-frame house. The Tiny’s trailer must be registered and insured when on the road. When parked, comprehensive home insurance or mobile-home insurance is recommended.
Plan on an annual budget of between €400 and €900 for comprehensive insurance. Of course, these prices may vary from one organization to another.
Further information can be found on our Legislation and Tiny House page.
At Quadrapol, we’re transparent and share the price of each tiny house, from the plans to the technical details of its construction, to give you as much information as possible. Our tiny houses start at €38,300 (incl. VAT) for a watertight, airtight house, or €47,500 (incl. VAT) for a turnkey Colibri. Added to this price is transport from our workshop to the commune where you wish to install your wooden cottage.
At Quadrapol, we offer a range of Tiny Houses whose plans have already been studied and validated by our design office. We can customize each of our models to suit your needs and your living or rental project.

What a lodge and a mobile home have in common is that they are both light leisure dwellings. This means they can be dismantled and transported (source: Légifrance).
But when it comes to composition and durability, a Quadrapol lodge is nothing like a mobile home. In fact, our lodges are real wood-frame houses, guaranteeing comfort and quality of life thanks to excellent thermal and sound insulation. We use durable materials to ensure that your home will last for years to come. We offer wooden lodges and chalets ranging from 20 to 60m2 to suit your needs.
Our autonomy options are perfectly adaptable and can be installed on a Tiny, a garden studio or a lodge. Partial or total autonomy can be offered, depending on your project.
For nearly 16 years, Quadrapol has specialized in the design and construction of wood-frame houses and self-sufficient, carbon-negative nano-housing.
