Quadrapol is a designer and builder of wooden homes, but above all it's a team of people who are passionate about wood and their craft. We invite you to discover these people, without whom Quadrapol could not function. Today, meet Joseph, carpenter and joiner at Quadrapol!
Hello Joseph! Can you tell us about your job?
I'm a carpenter at Quadrapol.
I'm in charge of building the timber frames for the different models in the range we offer our customers. Whether it's a Tiny House, a garden studio or a wooden house, my job is to study the plans prepared by our design office and carry out the construction in terms of joinery and framework. As every project is different, it's important in my job to be able to study the plans in such a way as to meet the customer's expectations. In fact, a single change to the execution plan leads to numerous changes to the rest, and the timber frame has to be redesigned accordingly.
At Quadrapol, my job is also to assemble the mezzanines, a very practical space in our Tiny House models.
I think it's also very important to note that this job is above all a team effort! There's a sense of mutual support within our team, because we all have the same goal: to complete a project. In addition to my regular tasks, I also sometimes install the rainscreen or vapour barrier. Thanks to the know-how of our teams, we know how to adapt perfectly.
It's a job that demands a lot of concentration and patience, and we can't afford to do it any old way, because the safety of the people who are going to live in these houses depends on our work. So, in a way, we have a great responsibility.
How long have you been working at Quadrapol? What do you like best about the company?
I've been working at Quadrapol for over 5 years and I feel very comfortable here!
I love the philosophy and passion that binds all Quadrapol employees, whatever their position. We're all working on a common project, building sustainable, quality micro-housing and wooden houses. I particularly enjoy seeing the construction progress over time until the final result is achieved. Indeed, everyone contributes to the building until it's finished, and that's the most exciting part.
After many weeks of work, it's a wonderful feeling to finally see the final result before our eyes. We're building something tangible that will be of use to our customers in the future. Their feedback is also particularly important for the whole team. We need this feedback to move forward and improve.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Wood has always been my passion. I love touching it, feeling it, working with it, and I love its robustness.
At Quadrapol, we don't work with just any wood, and that's what makes our work so beautiful. Our woods are rigorously selected from sustainably managed forests, with the PEFC label for example. These are quality woods! So we can be sure that we have all the tools we need to create safe, durable structures. And what's even cooler is that we actually plant trees with every Tiny creation!
What 3 words would you say best describe Quadrapol?
In my opinion, the 3 words that best describe this company are: solidity, quality and respect for materials.
