In partnership with Atmosylva, a new plantation has been completed in the Loiret region of France. Quadrapol is a builder of tiny houses, studios, chalets and small wooden houses, committed to protecting the environment. We use natural wood species from sustainably managed forests.
We also help finance afforestation and reforestation projects in France. Through these actions, we are helping to reduce the carbon impact of a small ecological home and achieve carbon neutrality.
A green builder committed to preserving the environment
For over a year and a half, Quadrapol has been supporting Atmosylva in its efforts to preserve French forests.
At the end of November, trees were planted as part of the reforestation project in Batilly-en-Puisayne, Loiret. A total of 4,128 trees were planted, spread over almost 2.5 hectares.
Autumn and winter are the best seasons for planting on the plains, as is the case in the Loiret region. Thanks to the higher rainfall during this period, the plants are not affected by possible summer droughts when they are installed.
The different stages of a reforestation project
The first step in the plantation process is to prune the trees on the edges of the plots. The branches are sometimes too imposing and could shade the young trees.
Next, the soil of the former pasture was decompacted to allow the root system of the young trees to develop in good conditions. Subsoiling is only carried out on the planting lines, to avoid releasing the carbon contained in the soil.
Finally, the trees are planted by hand, 30 to 50 centimetres high, with a 2-metre spacing between each one. This spacing allows the trees to grow taller and sheath themselves, avoiding the production of numerous low branches on the trunk.
Deer and other animals nibble leaves from young trees. To prevent this, a protective fence is installed while the trees grow. Regular maintenance is then carried out over the first 5 years to ensure that the sessile oaks thrive. These are highly resistant to drought. We also plant other species for diversification, such as forest fruit trees. They are particularly popular with birds and deer.
Quadrapol supports a new reforestation project in the Loiret region of France
Following the conclusion of the Batilly-en-Puisayne afforestation project, Quadrapol will be supporting a new reforestation project for which trees have yet to be financed. Vouzon, in the Loir-et-Cher region. We'll keep you informed of the various actions underway.
Quadrapol: builder of small ecological wooden houses
Since the creation of Quadrapol in 2008, the manufacturer of wooden houses, tiny houses, garden studios and wooden lodges has continued to develop solutions to meet urgent climatic and social needs.
An ecological wooden house built by Quadrapol has the advantage of making home ownership accessible to a wider public, without the need for a mortgage. So it's a good alternative for real living comfort at the right price. Young professionals, freelancers and even retirees are adopting our tiny houses!
Tiny wooden houses also offer a significant advantage: excellent thermal insulation. Wood insulates 12 times more than concrete. Combined with their small surface area, they're easy to heat in winter and keep cool in summer. This means you consume just the right amount of energy.
Buying a self-contained tiny house or ecological house
As part of our ongoing drive to consume less and consume better, Quadrapol offers self-sufficient water and energy solutions for each of our wooden constructions. You can equip your tiny house, lodge or chalet with technology ensuring complete or partial autonomy.
For example, the installation of 3 to 9 solar panels with inverter and batteries, a gas system to run the kitchen and water heater. Or a rainwater recovery system with tank and filtration.
These are just some of the features that make Quadrapol a key player in the field of eco-friendly homes.
