This week we met Cathy, a new Tiny house enthusiast. She chose Quadrapol's Colibri, a 23.5 m2 Tiny with two mezzanines that can sleep up to 4 people. We asked her about her lifestyle, her motivations and the advantages of living in a Tiny house.
Why did you choose to live in a Tiny house?
There are two of us, and at the time we were living in a 115m2 flat. We had children who came to see us from time to time, but not enough to take full advantage of such a large surface area. We wanted to invest in a space of our own. The Tiny house was an affordable investment. Plus, we were spending a lot of money on electricity and water. Since we've been living in our Tiny Colibri, we've been spending a maximum of €40 a month on electricity, which is a godsend!
How did you manage your wardrobe when you were living in such a large space?
It was difficult at first, because we had to separate our things, but you know, you quickly realize how many things you have and never wear... Even if we studied with Quadrapol the possible arrangements to arrange our interior space, we still had to separate ourselves from quite a few things. In the end, it's not so bad! We still managed to keep a lot of things.

Why did you choose Quadrapol?
We were sitting in front of the TV watching a report on Tiny houses, and we started doing some research on the Web. We found quite a few builders, but when we saw Quadrapol's prices, we decided to take the plunge and find out more. The Colibri Tiny House seemed like the ideal model for us to consider living in, so we chose it. We got in touch, then travelled to Carpentras to see it for ourselves, and fell in love with it!
Did you decide to design the interior differently?
We've made a few minor adjustments, notably to enable us to store our clothes, but overall we've put our trust in Quadrapol and have no regrets. Our Tiny was delivered turnkey and fully equipped for around €36,800 incl. VAT.
How did you get settled in?
We live in the Alps, in the middle of the mountains. At first, we decided to talk to the mayor, but when we told him we wanted to live in a house on wheels, he was a bit dubious. We participate in village life thanks to our grocery store, and we also have a local company called Relais Cyclo-Rando. So the mayor had no problem putting his trust in us.
It's now our main residence and we're delighted with it. We'd recommend this experience because, as well as being an affordable investment that quickly pays for itself, we really feel like we've stepped into a cosy cocoon, and what a pleasure that is. The proof! I'm wearing a T shirt even though it's about -10 at night. It's the best!
